How does the Medi-Jector VISION® work?
The Medi-Jector VISION® uses a mechanical spring to push the prescribed dose of medication through a tiny hole in a Needle-Free Syringe. In only a fraction of a second, a thin column of insulin easily penetrates the skin and is dispersed into the fatty tissue.
What is a Needle-Free Syringe?
The Needle-Free Syringe is a sterile, multi-use disposable insulin chamber that connects to the Medi-Jector VISION®. Each Needle-Free Syringe can be used for up to 21 injections or 14 days, whichever comes first, before discarding.
How is insulin loaded into the Medi-Jector VISION®?
A disposable Vial Adapter is attached to the top of a vial of insulin and is then attached to the Medi-Jector VISION®. Insulin is drawn into the Needle-Free Syringe by dialing in the prescribed dose.
Can insulin be mixed with the Medi-Jector VISION®?
Yes. Simply attach a separate Adapter to each insulin vial. After the first dose is drawn in, attach the second vial and Adapter to the syringe and continue filling until the correct dosage is indicated. Please refer to the instructions on your insulin vial labels.
How accurate is the Medi-Jector VISION®?
The Medi-Jector VISION® can deliver accurate doses from 2 to 50 units of U-100 insulin. Dosage adjustments can be made in single unit increments.
Is any maintenance required?
No. With proper use, the Medi-Jector VISION® is designed to be maintenance-free.
How long will the Medi-Jector VISION® last?
The product carries a two-year warranty.
Needles can bruise. What about the Medi-Jector VISION®?
Bruising can also occur with the Medi-Jector VISION®. But the system is available with three different Needle-Free Syringe sizes that provide comfortable injections for various skin types.
Are needle-free insulin injections an accepted alternative to needles?
Yes. Needle-free injection has been used for delivering insulin and growth hormone for many years and is well proven. Antares Pharma has improved and simplified this technology so that it can be easily used in place of needle injections. Our products are reviewed by the FDA just like other drug delivery options, and are legally marketed for sale with a 510k clearance from the FDA.
What are the benefits of needle-free injections over needles?
Benefits will vary with each individual. For most people they include a more independent lifestyle, better adherence to an intensive therapy program, reduced pain, increased convenience and the elimination of sharps disposal.
